Sham Symmetry by NilNilNil Sham Symmetry by NilNilNil
Another Apo2.07 tile + FX combo. Made tweaking the seed of Sigillum into some sort of celtic knotwork.

Full view has nice details. Thanks in advance for comments etc.

EDIT 02-07-2008: submitted to the ‘FRACTAL VALENTINE COUPLE’ Contest 2008.

Man, that's super cool. I love designs like this, that look symmetrical with a cursory glance. Nice work.

The thumb looks good, but this is a great example of a fractal that really comes to life - both the details and the colour - when seen in full view! This really does make me think of bronze and copper inscribed with celtic knotwork: great job! :D

It's a real pleasure to receive this kind of critique :)

As to the full-view thing, I guess subdued gradients always require full view to shine, as way too much gets chopped off in the thumbing down - bright gradients usually survive that, the ones I prefer rarely do. I'm just a tad sorry that my heavy .PNG fetish might be a bandwidth killer and a nuisance to some...
