Necker's Nightmare

So, high time to jump on the tile bandwagon. Seriously, I've seen some extraordinarily intriguing tiling work with Apophysis and I couldn't wait starting to make some myself... save I had no clue at all as how to do it, at least till I found a log of `Platinus live tut somewhere on *Apophysis.

This one cost me quite a few sleephours and I'm still not 100% convinced - dunno if it's the lighting or the gradient (a tad too subdued IMO) but I feel much better can be done here. Moreover, to find a decent cropping was pure, unadulterated, frustrating hell - always ended up with either too much light or too much shadow, neither exactly where I wanted it to be - what you see now seemed a honourable compromise when I eventually hit Ctrl+R (needless to say, it doesn't any longer now).
However, it cost way too much time to end up among scraps. Take it as a starter.
